[currently playing on my Pandora: Fly-Nicki Minaj ft. Rihanna...]
These past two weeks have not been for me. People have been telling me that I'm burnt out. I'm starting to believe them. Being burnt out/being sick/having new-found sinus problems means I've missed a couple of dance classes. I'll make them up.Hopefully. On top of this work, my extracurricular activities are being revamped. It seems everything I'm involved in now deals with helping other people, or trying to fix the sad state of society. That's depressing. = (
All of this has made me shut myself in, but what else has been changing is that I've been spending a lot more time in the recording studio. It feels like I'm literally immersing myself into music. The happiest part of my week lately has been vocal training on Friday (shout out to Clara, my instructor), and it's surprising how much of that information has been sticking. The last two Saturdays I've spent from 2:00-8:00pm (and 10:00pm this Saturday) in the studio. Part of that time has been spent on the radio. Part of that has been me just sitting there, soaking up the environment and the music that's being made by my amazing friends Brian(B.Reb) and Marquise (links to be included shortly).
I've been having so many music victories recently. B.Reb and Marquise are going to help me work on my music over the next couple of weeks (including a full day next week in the studio), which I'm really excited about. So far, I'm also quite proud of the fact that I was able to play and understand some music Marquise was working on (just by reading the notes), and was also able to compose something on the piano based on this song I had stuck in my head. In the words of Tanni: "You're a composer now!!!!!) =D
I've had the urge to do more than dance recently. Music and drawing/painting has been taking over my thoughts. As soon as I find some big cardboard/poster board, I'm going in with the paint. Just for me.
