back to school, back to the grind.

Well, first week of classes is almost done. I'm making a commitment to posting every day to this blog, for my followers as well as my own health and wellbeing. This week has been somewhat hectic, but relaxing at the same time. Swarthmore is a crazy place. Here's a typical week for me so far:

Monday: My first class of the week (and probably what will turn out to be my favorite class of the week) is from 1:15-4:00pm. What class? Black Culture in a Post-Soul Era, an English course offered by one of my favorite professors and mentors. This class is full (and I mean FULL) of my friends. I know all but 2 people in my class, and I'm enjoying every bit of material we talk about and read. And we're reading a lot. 300 pgs a week he estimates. After that, I run to Modern III from 4:30-6:00 and African I from 6:00-7:30. Yes, I know, I'm dancing from 4:30 to 7:30. 3 hours. And I don't know if I can handle it yet.

Tuesday: Wake up, eat, and head to Black Freedom Struggle:from Civil Rights to Hip-Hop. Also full of lots of reading, but equally as amazing for different reasons. My final project for the class is a protest project, and I'm going to use my dance program as my protest, which allows me more time to focus on my project, relieves some of the workload, and allows me to know as much about my issue as I can. Then I head to work at the dance library until 2:30, from which I head to Dance Composition II. This time, class is going to be more intense, and we'll be working on our individual artistic voices. Excited! =) Then I head to my favorite part of the day, Blueprint. I love my Peer Leaders, tough they work my everlasting nerves sometimes.

Wednesday:Looks a lot like Mondays, except minus English. Which means my day is free until 4:30pm. Can we say relaxing and reading? =)

Thursday: See Tuesday.minus Blueprint.add SASS at night.

Friday: I start off my day with vocal training. Finally! So excited. That's from 11-12, and isn't for any credit. Then later in the day I have History of Dance of Africa and Asia, which meets from 2-5pm. And after that? Nothing but homework and relaxation.

This schedule has everything in it, except Gospel Choir and Rhythm-N-Motion, which I'll be figuring out this week. Let's go!

Video of the day: section 2 of Revelations. Enjoy!
