july 5th.

This July 4th weekend was pretty amazing. Essence Festival was here in New Orleans, as usual, and I was able to do a LOT of work for a lot of free stuff.

Saturday, I worked as a beauty ambassador for an African Pride hair product beaty suite. It was AMAZING. We ended up making like 400 gift bags, but ended up giving away sooo many extra bags and product that it was like hair trick-or-treat. I ended up having so much myself that I gave away a bag to my stepmother and godmother and I STILL have lots of product left over. Guess I won't need anything for my hair while I'm in Ghana.

Then, Saturday night I was a seat filler, and was able to chill in VIP for all of Saturday's concerts, which meant: front row center for El Debarge and Chaka Khan, and front and center for Jill Scott and Kanye. Jill  can SANG. I bought her new album from the Walmart section Sunday.

Sunday, after church, I headed to EssenceFest again for free stuff. I have about six bags, makeup, shampoo, a magazine, and a free t-shirt from TV One for singing karaoke (Brown Skin by India Arie). Then, thanks to Eva, I headed back to the Superdome for another concert: this time in normal seats for Trey Songz, New Edition, and Mary J. Blige. It was AMAZING. Although the Superdome was wayyyyy too cold.

Yesterday (July 4th) was a shopping day. I bought some clothes for Ghana, a new headset, and a mini-tripod for my camera. Yay! This means I'm that much closer to putting new songs/dances online. =)

Oh, and here was my makeup/jewelry for Saturday. I love the jewelry, and I'll probably do an interview/highlight of the jewelry designer soon. For now, it's my little secret. =)
