This post has been long overdue,(and I'll fill in with pics shortly) but anyway...
A couple of Saturdays ago was the Gender(bend)<--insert another word here if you wish--party. I went, and when I woke up Sunday, my toe was killing me.
Sidenote: 3 years ago, my good friend Maxiel dropped me on my toe during a wheelbarrow relay race event. I didn't realize it was fractured until I went to the ER two weeks later. They taped it up, and put me in a boot for a month, and voila! Now, back to the present...
Monday, it was hurting to the point that I couldn't put weight on it during Modern III (no downward dog for me). I went for my travel immunizations Wednesday (yay Ghana!) and they asked me about it, took a look and a second opinion, and told me it may be re-broken, and sent me to the ER and the podiatrist.
Friday, X-ray, no fracture. This past Thursday, I went to the podiatrist (such a nice guy!), and...turns out I have injury-related arthritis in my right big toe. He gave me a steroid shot, which left me in pain Friday and Saturday, but Sunday, I was great! Now I'm back to dancing on it, but I'm still worried. And upset that a non-dance injury is going to effect my dance career, now that I know that I want to make dance a part of my career. =(
I'm convinced my body is waging a war on me. I donated a bag of clothes this past weekend to go to Haiti because they couldn't fit anymore (I think I'm gaining weight in muscle). My sinuses JUST recently decided to become problematic, my sleep patterns are off, and now I have the toe of a 55-year-old. The good news? None of this is gonna stop me from dancing.
Also, shout-outs to all of the people that I met at the A-List Event that actually will check to see what my blog looks like lol. =)
